Warming Station Hours of Operation

Alexandria, Louisiana — The City of Alexandria will adjust the hours of operation for its warming station in light of improved weather forecasts. Effective Saturday, January 11, 2025, the warming station at the Bolton Avenue Community Center, located at 315 Bolton Avenue, will cease operations.

City officials have carefully monitored weather conditions and determined that the likelihood of severe cold necessitating a warming station has significantly decreased. The decision to close the warming station is based on current predictions that indicate milder temperatures ahead, contributing to the overall safety of citizens.

During its operation, the Bolton Avenue Community Center provided essential support to citizens during extreme weather conditions, offering a safe haven for those in need. The city expresses gratitude to all staff and partner organizations (American Red Cross, Volunteers of America, Central Louisiana Homeless Coalition, and Manna House) as well as individual contributors to support organizations, who dedicated their efforts to ensure the well-being of individuals seeking shelter from the cold.
